i am ninja” Summer ChallengeWeek Two
  1. Help prepare a meal! Learning to cook is such a valuable skill that leads to healthy habits throughout life.
  2. Time for my favorite exercise…pullups! Find a pullup bar, playground equipment, or anything that will safely work, and try some pull ups. If you can’t do a pull up yet (or even if you can), just see how long you can hang. See if you can traverse the bar like a monkey. This is super fun and awesome exercise! Stay safe and be creative.
  3. Manners matter! Be extra mindful to use your best manners this week, by remembering to say “please”, “thank you”, and “you’re welcome”.
  4. Parent’s choice. Mom’s and Dad’s – this one is up to you! We would love for you to write down what you challenged your kids to do on the line provided on the challenge sheet.

“i am ninja” Summer ChallengeWeek Three

  1. What is your favorite fruit or vegetable? Research how it gets from a seed to your plate. Where is it grown? What does it look like? Are there other varieties? What is it’s peak growing season? Learning about your food is fun and educational!
  2. Move like an animal. Spend some time, on at least two different days this week, moving like an animal. Here are some ideas – Try ape walks, crab walks, beast walks, bear crawls, crocodile crawls, baboon walks, frog jumps, or anything else creative you can think of! Mix it up. Remember animals move forward, backward, and sideways. Have fun with this one!
  3. Reflect on our five powerful tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit. If you could add a sixth tenet, what would it be, and why? There are lots of different ways you can let us know what tenet you would add and why. Please complete this challenge by doing one of the following:
    • write your answer on the back of your check sheet
    • type and print out your answer and attach it to your check sheet
    • make a video of yourself explaining what tenet you would add and why
    • draw a picture describing your answer
    • write a story about a person using the tenet you would add
    • make a Power Point presentation of the tenet you would add and why
    • any other creative way you would like to convey the information!

We can’t wait to see and hear your answers!

“i am ninja”Summer Challenge Week Four

  1. Slowdown. This challenge is all about taking your time. Pick a food to eat and eat it slowly with no distractions. Notice how it smells, looks, tastes, feels, and sounds. All too often we are rushed when eating. It’s good to slow down, notice completely what we are eating, and enjoy it. This challenge can be done with something as simple as eating one grape, or an entire meal. It’s up to you and your family. This is a very fun challenge when approached with curiosity and present mindedness.
  2. Obstacle courses lead to creativity, imaginative thinking, build incredible movement skills, and are just plain fun. This week’s movement challenge….make your own obstacle course! This can be done just about anywhere…indoors…outdoors…both… utilizing playground equipment, making your own obstacles, etc..Of course, stay safe, and have lots of fun!
  3. Write a letter of gratitude to an important person in your life. Tell them why you are thankful that they are in your life.
  4. Parent’s choice. Mom’s and Dad’s – this one is up to you! We would love for you to write down what you challenged your kids to do on the line provided on the challenge sheet.

What a fantastic way to practice your perseverance!
